Creating reports in RS2005

Hi
I was wondering how one can start designing reports in Reporting Services
2005.
Kind regards

That's a pretty loaded question; but, I'll try to give you a start.
You want to open Visual Studio and create a new Report Server Project.
right click the Reports folder (in the Solution window) and select
'Add New Report.' Then create a datasource connecting to your SQL
Server database and create your connection string via the Edit button.
Then follow through the wizard to build your report. I would suggest
taking a look at Books Online; since it has tutorials and HowTos. Hope
this was somewhat helpful.

Thank you for you reply, I don't think I was clear in my posting. I was
actually referring to which tools are used? Do I need to obtain a copy of
VS or is there some sort of report designer client in SS2005?
Kind regards
Ricky

Advanced), then the QL Server2005 come with a report designer, called "SQL
Server Business Intelligence Development Studio", which is a flavor of
VS2005. If you also have a version of VS2005 installed, the report designer
would be merged into the VS2005.

Thank you for the information. It looks like we haven't got VS2005 so I
better opt for Full SS2005.
Kind regards

development), SQL Server2005 comes with a VS2005 version for report design
only. Simply place the SQL Server2005 disk into the computer where you want
to design the report (it does not have to be the computer with QSL Server
installed), and install SQL Server client tool only.

On the "untechnical" side of things, you should check out Geoff Snowmans
webcasts on Reporting Services. They serve as a _great_ get-going tutorial.
Find them on his blog at:
